On September 30th, 2017 El Centro de la Raza (A non-profit committed to social justice) will hold its annual Building the Beloved Community Gala at the Westin in downtown Seattle. The evening will consist of a reception, silent auction, dinner, and live auction. This event is the most important fundraiser of the year where we will raise essential funds to support our 48 human service and community-building programs. To make this event a success, we are still looking for 100+ volunteers!
Setup: 10:00 AM- 2:30 PM
Registration and Check-out: Register guests upon arrival and complete check-out process at the end of the evening. Ideal for those with customer service experience who are detail-oriented, able to work quickly, and comfortable working with computers.
Live Action Bid spotters: You will assist Kip, the auctioneer, in catching bids during the Live Auction. You will be assigned one of four assistant auctioneers who will direct you which tables to monitor for the duration of the Live Auction. Be fun, engaging.
Silent Auction and Item Pick-up: Encourage guests to bid in the silent auction and facilitate item pick-up at the end of the night. A good fit for volunteers who are outgoing, cheerful, preferably with sales experience, can stay on their feet, and are quick thinkers.
Photography: We are looking for professional photographers to document this special event.
Bid Spotters and Recorders
Volunteers will be receiving a complimentary dinner, entered in a special volunteer raffle, and will also be receiving a beautiful set of notecards featuring the artwork of El Centro de la Raza’s very own Brenda Yedem Mendoza Alamo and Nicole Tilson. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out that evening. Also, please feel free to pass the message along to friends and family.
Gracias for your consideration,
El Centro de la Raza
